Stopped at Devils Marbles (Karlu Karlu) to have a look around and take some pictures. Didn’t realise there were so many of them, they seem to be spread over a fairly big area. No rain so far today although it did rain quite heavily during last night. A few clouds but lots of sunshine and currently got the advantage of a bit of a tail wind – every little bit helps. Have been noticing a few ant hills over the last couple of days but today there are 1000’s of them all magnetic (Nth/Sth). Just after 1200 noon and heading towards Banka Banka (RA 91) not a cloud in the sky and really warm. Have stripped down to a tee shirt but still have on long pants – they go next for shorts…..YIPPEEEEE
Saw my first eagle on the side of the road having it’s morning tea. Unfortunately I was a bit slow to get the camera out and he didn’t even move from the side of the road as we barrelled past in the caravan. I am now ready for the next sighting, camera on the right setting and sitting right next to me. Lunch at Renner Station and at last I am in shorts & thongs. Hoping to camp at Daly Waters Pub tonight and probably have a counter tea…..change of plans, Daly Waters was absolutely packed, even the overflow which has no power was starting to fill up. Decided we were not paying to stay in a crowded overflow with no power so heading up the road to find a free camp. Eventually located a really nice spot only about 2kms from the pub near the WW11 Aerodrome Museum.
