14th July 2011 - Alice Springs - Wycliffe Well

On the road towards Wycliffe Well at 8.15am.  Really nice of Rosie & Steve to let us stay at their place for the 2 nights we were in Alice Springs. Pity the weather wasn’t a bit better for our exploring.  Overcast today but not raining and not too cold to start the day. Crossed over The Tropic of Capricorn and got the appropriate photo!!!! Lunch due at Barrow Creek – Today is actually the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Peter Falconia from Barrow Creek so a little “spooky”.  Staying at Wycliffe Well Caravan Park which is like an oasis in the middle of the outback.  Very nice park and plenty of grass around the sites.  Pulled in around 3.00pm and now all caught up with our chores and a lovely Chicken Kiev for dinner.  No rain yet but it is definitely threatening so not too fussed if it rains during the night, it sounds awesome on the roof.
